Introduction

Western New England University is a small, private institution located in Springfield, Massachusetts, home to the Basketball Hall of Fame and within driving distance to Boston and NYC. The university has been in operation for 100 years and serves a total of 3,700 students. We offer degrees through our Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, Engineering, Pharmacy and a School of Law.

Academics

The University has achieved the highest accreditation standards for business (AACSB), engineering (ABET), and law (ABA) and U.S. News & World Report lists WNE among the North Region’s “Best Universities – Master Category”, those that provide a full range of bachelor’s and master’s programs. Our undergraduate Engineering programs were also ranked in the top 100 in the United States. Western New England offers small class sizes and lots of hands on learning from the start of your program. Extracurricular Activities

The University has over 60 clubs and organizations that students can get involved with. We also hold a number of internationally focused events on campus such as World Fest, International Education Week, Diwali, a Kite Festival, and several others. Students are encouraged to get involved in at least one club or organization outside of the classroom.

Housing is available on campus for both undergraduate and graduate students. We just opened our brand new University Commons which offers students a Starbucks, Firehouse Subs, grab and go options, as well as our Fresh Food Company two story full service dining options for all meals. Scholarship Opportunities

The University offers scholarships to undergraduate international students that are based on your academic profile when you apply to the University. The scholarships range from $8,000 to $21,000 depending on your grades and are renewable every year. There is no separate application for the scholarship.

We do not offer scholarships for graduate/master’s programs.

Undergraduate Application Process

The University has a rolling admission process in which there is no deadline to apply. We have start points in the fall (August) and spring (January). You can apply online at https://www1.wne.edu/admissions/undergraduate/apply.cfm or through the Common Application. Besides the application, we require that you submit official transcripts, an essay, and proof of English proficiency. We are SAT optional with the exception of a few programs. Admissions decisions are released typically within 1 to 2 weeks.

Graduate Admissions Process

For graduate programs, we process applications on a rolling basis so there is no deadline. We have four entry points for most programs – fall (September), winter (January), spring (April) and summer (July). You can apply online at https://www1.wne.edu/admissions/graduate/apply.cfm.
