Studying at Murdoch University is about exploring new ways of thinking, discovering different perspectives and making a difference. Murdoch University is ranked number 60 in the Times Higher Education 100 under 50 rankings placing us as one of the top 2% of universities globally. Students will be taught by leading academics, professional practitioners and visiting scholars from across Australia and around the world.
Our campus is located in Perth, Western Australia – a state famed for its brilliant blue skies, warm sunny climate and white sandy beaches. Murdoch is the largest campus in Australia and currently has over 22,000 students including 3,000 international students from over 100 countries.

Murdoch’s recent emergence in the Times Higher Education Top 400 confirms our place as one of the top 2 per cent of universities globally.
We understand the challenges of adjusting to a new country and university life so we offer a wide range of support services, specifically for international students. This includes a dedicated support team for students in their first year of study, course and career advisors, and a range of health and counselling services.
Students are enrolled in over 200 undergraduate degrees and postgraduate courses across a range of disciplines, including Veterinary Science, Law, Teaching, Psychology, Business and Nursing.
Murdoch students work closely with industry and have access to state of the art equipment to ensure graduates are capable of meeting current and future industry needs. Murdoch’s state of the art facilities include a real veterinary clinic, fully equipped TV and radio studios, practicing chiropractic clinic, pilot plant, new sports science performance lab and a world class law moot court.
Murdoch offers a number of Scholarships to International students:
The Murdoch University Academic Excellence Awards (MUAEA) Scholarship’s acknowledge and reward commencing students who have a record of high academic achievement in previous studies. This scholarship is worth $5000 and is applicable to students enrolling into both the Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs.
To be eligible for the award, applicants must meet all of the below criteria:
- Be an applicant who will commence studies at Murdoch University in any of the degrees on offer in 2016 and 2017.
- Have good academic record with an average grade of 75% or higher, or equivalent GPA prior to applying to the degree program.
INTERNATIONAL WELCOME SCHOLARSHIP (IWS)

Value: | $10,000 for all Business and Governance eligible degree courses $7,000 for all other eligible degree courses |
Closes: | To be considered for a scholarship, applications for entry to an eligible course need to be submitted to the international admissions office at least two weeks prior to the start of the semester that the student intends to commence their studies at Murdoch. |
Payment: | Subject to the terms and conditions of the award being met, the award will be applied in two equal installments directly into the recipient’s Murdoch University tuition fee account before the start of each of the first two consecutive semesters of study.
There is no financial payout of this scholarship, nor is it refundable. |

Eligibility: | To be eligible for the scholarship, students must meet all three of the below eligibility criteria:
Be an International Student who is a citizen of one of the following countries; Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Nepal, Pakistan or Sri Lanka; and Be a new international student applicant who applies for, and receives an offer, a conditional offer or a packaged offer to commence studies at Murdoch University; in all intakes from 2017 to 2019. in one of the eligible courses; AND The eligible course should be studied internally at one of Murdoch University’s Australian Campuses. Not be recipients of another scholarship awarded by Murdoch University |
